The MS Maximus

Lovely room...although on the 3rd floor and the port hole was a little scary - of course it didn't open but sometimes the water was half way up. Hope it didn't bust a leak! LOL My housekeeper was Emmaita (I think) she was from Morroco...I called her Emma!
Every night we got a gift from Mayflower including a bottle of Champaign
The food on board was unique as it was of the local regions. The MS Maximus had not had an English speaking tour in awhile so many could not speak English. The majority of the crew were from Romania and Hungary. The choices were minimal compared to an ocean cruise...breakfast was Buffet style with meats, bread, fruit and cereal. I made my usual sandwich with brochen...something I missed since I was in Germany. The bacon - like prosciutto was my favorite with cheese. Butter and cheese were fresh and very different than in the US (better!) The lunch and dinner usually consisted of an appetizer, soup, entrée (usually two or three choices) and dessert. Lots of fish and soup! The dessert was different too. THE apricot filled heavy doughnut with blueberries was my favorite.(apricots are local). Other things were a little strange but good like parsley soup, ox tail steaks, horseradish mouse and apple and horseradish soup.
My tablemates - Ann, Ruth, Harriet, Danielle, Sandra and me!
